The annual CAA Golf Outing on August 8 2017 showcased the Delaware Golf Club as its new venue. Over 120 Golfers and dozens of sponsors gathered for a fun-filled day of scramble golf, games, food and networking. Golfers teed off at 9:00 a.m. and made their way around the course, visiting with CAA Associate Members on their sponsored holes to network, play games and grab a drink or a snack before teeing off. As in year’s past sponsors made each hole unique featuring products, games and encouragement providing a mass amounts of fun for golfers throughout the day. Sponsors helped keep the day light and occupied golfers as they awaited their turn. Roto-Rooter sponsored a Pro golfer on their hole allowing each team a chance at a better score netting $150 for the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. ABLE 444-Roof sponsored the water cart and Feazel, Inc. sponsored the Bloody Mary and Tiki Bars. The Waterworks sponsored the boxed lunches. This year’s mulligans were sponsored by FABCO and AmRent sponsored the scorecards. The Affordable Housing Trust of Columbus and Franklin County sponsored the carts and HD Supply sponsored the 19th Hole after party. Tournament Sponsor T&R Properties After just over five hours of golf, golfers and sponsors enjoyed drinks on the patio before adjourning to the ballroom for hour’s d’ouerves and awards swapping stories about their rounds. CAA Executive Director, Laura Swanson opened the ceremony by thanking everyone for attending and had the privilege of announcing the winner of the 50/50 benefitting the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. Rick Sklenar of Oakwood Management Company took home the $267 50/50 prize and an equal amount was donated to the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. Swanson then raffled off a Kayak and a Driver with Ryan Munday of United Contracting Solutions winning the Kayak and Don Brunner with BRG Properties winning the club. Donations benefited the CAA Community Assistance Foundation and the CAA Political Action Committee. Greg Wymer of Oakwood Management Company won the Kayak for a Cause Olentangy Paddle trip. Following the raffle prize drawings, John Miller with Delaware Golf Club took the stand to announce the first, second and third place foursomes and skins winners. There were four skins at the event with three different teams splitting the skins pot. The Willis Law Firm team won one, and the Sherwin Williams Company team won the second, with the third and fourth won by the Fristche Corporation team. Additionally, proximity awards were given to respective winners: Longest Drive, mens, Troy Thimes, Longest Putt, mens, Rick Sklenar and women’s, Ilene Davidson and Closest to the Pin, mens, Troy Thimes. Next, the 2017 CAA Challenge Cup champions were announced. The top three teams were awarded gift certificates and trophies sponsored by Wilmar. The third place team was The Sherwin Williams Company team comprised of golfers: Eric Hill, Adam Maginot, Chris Salvato and Ryan Smith. The second place team was Fritsche Corporation, comprised of golfers: Alan Coupland, Bill Fritsche, Mike Miller and Dennis Mulholland. The first place team was Environmental Pest Management comprised of golfers: Harvey Bradford, Jason Carpenter, Mitchell Dawson and Nathan Rish Thanks to all who participated in the 2017 CAA Golf Outing.
