The 2022 CAA Reverse Raffle continued its tradition as a high-energy, event filled with excitement and anticipation as enthusiastic CAA members clamored to see who would walk away a winner. Once again, the Raffle was held at Woodland’s Backyard on Thursday, November 3 and returning by popular demand attendees had an additional chance to take home a unique prize, a liquor basket valued at $400 worth of alcohol and accessories. The raffle also benefited the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. The evening began in full swing with cocktails, pizza and conversation before settling into the main event. Raffle Emcee Danny Fickel with Liberty Restoration welcomed everyone and thanked them for their generosity throughout the evening and the year allowing the Community Assistance Foundation awards possible. After a review of the rules the Raffle was ready for the fast-paced eagerness to see who would hold the last number on the board. The first ball drawn for the “Grand Prize Loser” went to Buckeye Real Estate who won back their $125 ticket price. Attendees excitedly watched as numbers were quickly removed from the board. While there was disappointment in not winning, 13 non-winning attendees received one of the consolation door prizes generously donated by event sponsors. When only five numbers remained: Benchmark Roofing, Best Karpet Klean, Commercial One Realtors, Snip Internet and The Waterworks they were called forward to discuss whether to split the $2,000 prize or continue. With a non-unanimous decision, the group voted to continue the drawing. The next number removed belonged to Benchmark Roofing who was eliminated from contention. With another round of consideration, the group decided to split the money taking home $500 each. The final playing cards were drawn for the liquor basket with Nikki Rice of Bailfish Services LLC taking home the coveted prize. The CAA Community Assistance Foundation would not be able to provide the outreach to charities without participation from members at events like the Reverse Raffle. The Foundation Board would like to thank everyone for their donations by purchasing a ticket, door prize or sponsoring the event. Congratulations to this year’s lucky winners.
